"There comes that mysterious meeting in life when someone acknowledges who we are and what we can be, igniting the circuits of our highest potential."
~Rusty Berkus
The concept of Buttercup Beads went from bud to bloom by Owner/Artist and Lampworker, Andrea Mazzenga, RN - mostly due to years of personal frustration at the lack of local bead stores along with the need to travel long distances outside her hometown to purchase quality findings and materials for her projects. Andrea has been beading and creating beautiful artisan pieces for many years. She has progressed from simple stringing to complicated bead weaving, to making her own clasps and findings, to Lampworking beads for her jewelry designs.
Along with her nursing career, she enjoyed a successful home based business selling her wares both nationally and internationally. In 2007, she decided to leave medicine to open Buttercup Beads and has enjoyed the adventure. She is extremely grateful to her loyal customer base whose purchases and enthusiasm for her work through the years have inspired her to grow and cultivate her abilities. She has taught various beading techniques both privately and publicly and is personally responsible for addicting more than a few of her students to the wonderfully relaxing craft of beading. She has taught her classes at Bead Fest and the International Gem & Jewelry Show, as well as had her work published in both Beadwork and Bead & Button Magazines numerous times over the years.
Although our physical store is now closed, Andrea hopes that the new virtual Buttercup Beads 2.0 will still provide a unique online setting where enthusiastic beaders can come to hone their craft as well as their creativity.
Andrea welcomes you to become part of her online beadazzled community!
